José Guzmán is a former professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1985 to 1994. He was born on October 14, 1963 in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico. Guzmán primarily played for the Texas Rangers, where he spent eight seasons and was known for his powerful fastball.
Guzmán's best season came in 1992, when he led the American League with 16 wins and was named an All-Star. He finished his career with a record of 80 wins and 74 losses, along with a 4.05 earned run average (ERA) and 1,347 strikeouts.
After retiring from baseball, Guzmán has worked as a coach and instructor, helping to develop young pitchers. He is also involved in various charitable efforts in his home country of Puerto Rico.
